Location: Goosewell Primary Academy, Plymouth PL9 9HD
Salary Range: Grade A - SCP1 £17,364 pro rata, per annum
Hours/Contract: Term time only, 38 weeks per year, part-time, 5 hours per week, Fixed term contract until 31 August 2021
The Role: We are seeking to appoint 2 Midday Assistants to work across all year groups who can interact with the children and undertake the responsibility of supervising and ensuring the safety of the children at all times. The main duties of the role are to assist with the well-being of pupils during lunchtime, to supervise the children in the dining areas, to encourage the children to use good table manners and to ensure they clear away their plates and wipe up any spills. Additionally, outside on the playground, it is your responsibility to co-ordinate/initiate games for the pupils and to ensure the children play safely.
The Person: Experience of working with children is not essential, just the passion to help improve the life chances of children within a school environment whilst being prepared to work inside and outside in all weathers. The following qualities are essential:
Willingness to undertake training to support the role
Understanding the needs of children
Understanding of Health and Safety issues
Understanding of the issues surrounding the safety of children
Basic knowledge of First Aid
School Background: Goosewell Primary Academy is a member of the Reach South Academy Trust. At Goosewell, we have over 500 children on roll from Reception to Year 6.
