Salary Range: MPS/UPS plus TLR2a

Background: Reach South is a young and developing Trust which operates across the South West of England with the aim of delivering all through 3-19 education. We operate 13 academies in Plymouth, Bournemouth, Dorset and Wiltshire
We are building this Trust on a clear set of values, behaviours and curriculum principles. The Role: We are looking for a SENDCo who will co-ordinate and support the provision for the children in our classes throughout school who have a diverse range of special needs and who can deliver quality intervention across the school for our SEND pupils. This will involve working very closely and effectively with school-based colleagues, parents and carers and a wide range of other professionals and agencies and also leading a small SEND specialist team in school.
Our new SENDCo will be someone who is able to work within, contribute to and continually shape our fully inclusive approach to education. Our pupils are fantastic learners who deserve the best possible education every day. Our school is a happy, supportive environment with a lovely site which is well resourced. Being close to the City Centre means we can readily access many educational facilities and activities which are right on our doorstep to provide an experience-rich curriculum experience for our learners.
Our core business is delivering exceptional education for children and young people with a mission to help all pupils aspire to achieve beyond the expectations that others put on them. We do this through the development of a talented and committed work force. In order to deliver exceptional opportunities for learning, we need highly motivated staff across all parts of the organisation.
The appointed teacher would need to fulfil the following criteria:
Be an outstanding teacher dedicated to inclusion
National SENDCo award and/or experience as a school SENDCo and a willingness to undertake the National SENDCo Award training
Be familiar with the SEN code of practice and the new EHC plans
Have a working understanding of specific strategies to support children with ASC
Work alongside teachers, parents and outside agencies to support children’s learning and progress
Be familiar with the EHAT process, leading meeting and completing related paperwork
Be efficient in time management and working to deadlines
Be prepared to continue their professional development and contribute to the ongoing development of the school
