Site Progress Update: Gloucestershire Academy Inspirational Learning (GAIL)

Exciting developments are underway at the Gloucestershire Academy Inspirational Learning (GAIL) site in Gloucester, as construction moves forward with E G Carter & Co Ltd. Week 25 has marked significant progress toward creating a transformative educational space that will serve children and families across the region.
This Week’s Highlights
- Roofing Progress: Roof sheeting has been installed on both the activity hall and primary school, while the secondary school roof now includes a vapour control layer.
- Structural Enhancements: Parapet liner sheets have been fitted to the primary school, and brickwork has been added to the high-level beam in the hall for roof abutment.
- Outdoor Spaces: Muck-away works have begun to form the amphitheatre area, and stoning up and edgings for the second MUGA pitch are complete, ready for tarmac.
- Landscaping & Fencing: Perimeter fencing and landscaping are progressing well, shaping the external environment.
- Windows & Frames: SFS to the building perimeter is ready for windows, and frames for windows and curtain walling have been installed in the hall and primary school.
- Safety Features: Lightning protection tape has been added to the roof to ensure compliance and safety.
Looking Ahead
Set to open in January 2027, GAIL will provide 200 places for children aged 4–16 with Moderate and Additional Learning Difficulties, including autism and speech, language, and communication needs. This inclusive, high-quality educational environment will make a lasting impact on families across Gloucestershire.
